Since the release of Pokémon GO last week, thousands, if not millions, of trainers have downloaded the mobile game in hopes of catching Pokémon out in the wild. Proving incredibly popular, and seemingly taking over the internet, just about everybody and their mother is playing Pokémon GO. And that’s also the problem.
Due to the extreme popularity of Pokémon GO, Niantic has had troubles keeping the servers up. Aside from bugs and glitches, the servers have proved unreliable, constantly crashing.
Niantic hasn’t released any sort of official statement about the status of Pokémon GO’s servers, but over on their support website, they at least acknowledge the issues.
“Due to the incredible number of Pokémon GO downloads, some Trainers are experiencing server connectivity issues. Don’t worry, our team is on it!”
There’s no word on when we can expect stable servers or if there will be some sort of compensation for the server connectivity problems, but we’ll continue to monitor the situation.
