LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz, the first of three games planned around the new Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and LEGO Legends of Chima products, was released today and is now available on the App Store. Produced by TT Games and 4T2, Speedorz is a racing mini-game where players race against famous Chima characters, battle through iconic Chima locations, and unleash powerful boosts.
Choose to race as a generic wolf-man “Warrior” or Leonidas in one of three races: Tribe Cup, Royal Cub, or Super Cup. However, at the time of today’s release, only the Tribe Cup is available while the other two are listed as “coming soon.”
As you race you can unlock additional characters and racing carts by collecting multi-color LEGO studs. Don’t expect to buy your way past this game; surprisingly, the only way to collect these studs is by actually racing. There are no in-app purchases in Speedorz.
Looking ahead, there are two more games planned: LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey will be released in summer 2013 for the Nintendo 3Ds and PS Vita, while LEGO Legends of Chima Online will release in autumn 2013. Eventually, all three of the games will be connected and share a reward system called The Chima Vault, which can be accessed by players via LEGO.com/chima. While playing LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz and LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey, players will be able to earn points which can be redeemed through the Vault for a variety of unique content that players can use to enhance their experience in LEGO Legends of Chima Online.
