Nnooo’s retro-styled arcade game, escapeVektor, will be available on the PS Vita next week, the developer announced.
In the game you control Vektor, an entity trapped inside the player’s CPU. It’s up to you to help Vektor escape the CPU which has been holding him captive. In making his escape, Vektor must get through obstacles and avoid enemies, each with different hunting patterns and intelligence. As you complete the various levels in the game, escape becomes more difficult; however, you will also gain new abilities to help you through the stages. As you continue through the game, old code and memories are unlocked which reveal more about Vektor’s past.
escapeVektor is the sequel to 2011’s escapeVektor: Chapter 1. Nnooo originally planned for a 4-chapter series, but then decided to roll all of the chapters into one game — appropriately titled escapeVektor — for the PS Vita. This “complete edition” of the game comes with 150 levels spread across 27 different worlds with additional enemies and obstacles, 3 types of online leaderboard and a new Wildcard system.
On the Vita, the gyroscope and touchscreen will be used to adjust the camera angle and move Vektor around the overworld maps. The game also takes advantage of the Vita’s near functionality to drop additional Wildcars that you can pick up and use.
“We released escapeVektor in Europe in December and it’s been receiving great reviews” said Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “We’ve been working hard to get it released as soon as possible in the US.”
escapeVektor will release on Tuesday, January 22 and will be available for $9.99.
