As you are well aware by now, Supercell has opted not to post “official” sneak peeks for the upcoming Clash of Clans ‘Shipwreck’ Update (scheduled to release this month). That has left fans to scour the internet for any kind of clues they could find, leading to many different rumors and theories. Well, at least one of those rumored features has been proven true, as Supercell forum moderator confirmed that the upcoming update will bring a “Versus Mode.”
Exactly what “Versus Mode” is remains a mystery, but speculation — and common sense — point towards some sort of PvP mode. How, exactly, it’ll differ from the normal game modes in Clash of Clans remains to be seen, but there are some theories.
One theory that makes sense to me suggests:
“…players will battle other gamers to invade scare territories, the “unbuild” option will give them the chance to destroy the village of their enemies and construct their own over it.
What is interesting about this is that players do not have to wait for 24 hours to attack territories. What was deciphered so far was that it will be a one-on-one situation where each player is attacking its opponent and trying to win. Also, instead of letting the player use the army in the base, he or she will be given time to build a new army which will be used in the head-to-head battle.”
Again, we’ll have to wait and see when the update arrives later this month. Until then, let us know what you think this mysterious Versus Mode could mean for Clash of Clans.
