There’s been so much mystery and excitement behind the upcoming Clash of Clans update, which is assumed to be arriving in May. For their part, Supercell has been very careful not to spoil or leak anything until it’s fully ready to be revealed. Wed on’t know what it is, but we assume soon.
In the meantime, there’s been plenty of speculation and promises. For example, we’ve been told that this is is a massive update, “much bigger” than anything we’ve seen in the past — even Clan Wars. And we do know that it’s “unique from any other update.” So what can that mean?
For the longest time (since November 2016), there’s been rumors and speculation of a new “Shipwreck” feature. We don’t quite know what it is — or what it could be — but fans are exited nonetheless. It all started off with a game file extraction by spAnser on Reddit back in November where he found some interesting files showing a shipwreck.
The feature never arrived with the December 2016 update, but there were some files for a new icon related to the ship.
From there, the rumors continued. The official Clash of Clans Japan Twitter account released an image with the March 8th Balancing update, tucked away in the background is a ship that looks exactly like the one seen in leaks.
Additionally, AllClash found some artwork on the internet — that’s presumed to be real because of the quality — that also contains the ship in the image.
And if that weren’t enough, game files now show something called “Change Village”.
Obviously there are numerous questions surrounding this. What happens when doing this? Will we have a second village? Is it something like Boom Beach, which has a submarine that you can send to get some extra resources? Is it something that will provide daily/weekly quests? Or is it something else entirely?
More importantly, is it arriving with the May 2017 update?
