Nintendo’s new Super Smash Bros. may be one of the company’s most highly anticipated games. The popular brawler has been confirmed for the Wii U and the 3DS for quite a while now, but Nintendo has not said much about it to date.
However, in today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, which was centered on the Wii U, company President Satoru Iwata gave fans a little update on the game’s progress. Unfortunately, it wasn’t much.
“It is a huge development undertaking and we need more time before it launches,” Iwata said. Then he added, what could be the biggest tease of all: screenshots for Super Smash Bros. will be unveiled at this year’s E3 2013. They will probably be screenshots from the Wii U version, but at least it’s something!
Iwata did say that game development is “on track” and asks that we wait for “just a little longer.”
E3 2013 is set to take place in Los Angeles from June 11-13.
