Three notable 3DS titles — Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Fire Emblem Awakening, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon — all impressed for the month of March, according to latest data from NPD Group.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, which released on March 24, 2013, sold nearly 365,000 physical units in the month, and has now sold more than 415,000 combined physical and digital units to date. Pretty astounding numbers considering Fire Emblem Awakening, which had a bit more of a head start releasing in February, has just now surpassed the 240,000 mark (combined physical and digital copies). This was aided by an additional 64,000 copies sold in March. Closing out the list was Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity which sold more than 145,000 combined physical and digital units for the month.
On the whole, the month of March proved to be quite successful for the Nintendo 3DS, which just passed the 20 million physical games sold mark in the United States. Total sales of 3DS software at retail in the United States increased by more than 50% year-over-year.
